Design Concepts and Mockups — Iterate Before You Print
Visual directions, layout exploration, and physical prototypes before any press run begins.
Whether you need a full creative build or just dependable design support to keep a project moving, J.M. Field's graphic designers can step in at any stage. We help turn ideas into clear concepts, produce polished proofs, and deliver final artwork that's ready for print or digital use. From quick revisions and layout adjustments to campaign graphics, landing-page assets, and full print design solutions, our team works efficiently without losing attention to detail. If you already have brand guidelines, we'll design within them to maintain consistency. If you don't, we can help establish a visual direction you can build on, so your materials are cohesive, professional, and ready to launch.

Questions
Design Concepts & Mockups FAQ
How many concept directions are included?
Most projects include 2-3 distinct visual directions at the concept stage. For smaller jobs where time and budget are tight we'll often present 2 directions rather than 3. The goal is always to give you enough variety to make a confident decision without over-investing before direction is set.
What's the difference between a concept mockup and a press proof?
A concept mockup is a physical prototype produced during the design phase — fold pattern, panel layout, binding style, or structural form reviewed before the design is finalized. A press proof is a color-critical print produced after design is approved, used to verify how the final job will print on production equipment. See our print proofing page for press-proof workflow.
How many rounds of revisions are included?
Revision rounds are defined per project scope at the start. Most standard projects include 2-3 rounds of layout and copy revisions. Additional rounds beyond scope are billed at an hourly design rate. We document changes clearly at each round so nothing is missed or repeated.
Can I get a handmade mockup for any project?
Yes for any printed format that benefits from a physical prototype — folded brochures, catalogs, packaging, hang tags, and sales kits. For purely digital projects (web layouts, social campaigns) we substitute high-fidelity on-screen previews. We'll flag which review format fits your job at scoping.
